Our History

If These Walls Could Talk

Founded as a humble inn in 1865, Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa has a vibrant history. Read our story and then come add your name to the legend.

1865

First lodgers

1872

New three-story building replaces farmhouse

1900

Construction begins on nine-hole golf course. Steam heat and electric lighting also added.

1911

Erect Italian Revival style tower to serve as focal point of resort.

1979

Sold to Mountain View Associates

1986

Hotel Closes

2001

$20 million renovation project begins

Mountain View Grand celebrates Grand re-opening
