Some activities just capture the essence of fall, and at Mountain View Grand, you’ll find plenty to put you in a fall state of mind—slow down and savor the season’s simple pleasures.  

Fall Tractor Hayride
Celebrate the season with a scenic hayride (weather dependent) through our colorful autumn landscape. After, cozy up with a cup of hot apple cider and indulge in a variety of seasonal doughnuts. It’s a festive fall favorite for all ages.

Pumpkin Picking
Just a short stroll from the farm, our picturesque pumpkin patch invites guests to wander the vines and handpick a perfect pumpkin straight from the source.

Apple Cider Making
Enjoy an authentic taste of fall with our complimentary hands-on apple cider-making experience. Operate the farm’s traditional cider press and craft your own batch of fresh, delicious cider—made from a blend of “drop apples” harvested from local farms and our very own orchard. It’s fall flavor at its freshest.

Leisure Apple Time 
Take a moment to slow down and savor the season. Each day, you’re invited to relax on the front veranda and enjoy a crisp selection of complimentary apples sourced from local New Hampshire orchards. It’s perfect for a mid-morning snack or a peaceful pause in your autumn adventures.

Wool & Wonder 
Discover what happens after our sheep and llamas get a haircut! Designed for kids, this hands-on crafting experience reveals how natural fibers are cleaned and carded before they’re transformed into a colorful felted ornament to take home—using dyed wool from our very own animals.

Windy Ridge Orchard
If apple picking is a fall must, you won’t want to miss a chance to visit Windy Ridge Orchard. It’s a bit of a drive, but it’s the best orchard in the area.

North Country Orchard
Want to visit a charming orchard in the neighborhood? Just five minutes away is North Country Orchard, where you can pick a variety of apples, enjoy fresh cider, or purchase local honey.

Great Vermont Maze
Approximately an hour away, the Great Vermont Maze is fun for the whole family. It covers 24 acres and takes about two to three hours to complete. Lined with 10-foot walls of corn, it features bridges and an underground tunnel. There is also the Scenic Maze for those interested in a shorter option.

New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival
Celebrating Scottish heritage, the New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival is one of the largest Highland Games in North America. Whether you’re of Scottish descent or not, you’ll enjoy the Scottish music, dance, food, sheep dog trials, and more. There are classes on street curling and stone lifting and seminars on cooking and genealogy. Fun for all ages, there are special activities for kids and shopping in Vendor Village.

RiverFire
In nearby Berlin, RiverFire, a popular fall festival, heats things up with some dramatic fires on the Androscoggin River. The fires, which actually burn on the historic boom piers, set the stage for a spectacular walk while admiring the glowing carved pumpkins on the bridge.  This fun, family-friendly event features a 5K race, hayrides, bouncy houses, a kids’ Halloween parade, live music by Diezel, food vendors and a beer tent, and a zombie-themed ATV poker run.

Fall Foliage

Reconnect with the season in our spectacular setting amid the White Mountains, where rugged peaks, once cloaked in green, ignite in a blaze of amber, crimson, and gold.

Explore inviting trails throughout our expansive 1,700 acres, where you can discover native trees—including birch, beech, and maple— and marvel at their vibrant colors.  Want an even better look? Spend the day on a fall foliage tour taking in some of the best vantage points in the area, including the following:

Mount Washington
From the top of Mount Washington, you can witness a panorama of color blanketing the surrounding valleys and peaks. Just keep in mind that the weather at the summit can be unpredictable. You can access the summit via the Mount Washington Cog Railway or Auto Road.

Weeks State Park
Located at the top of Mount Prospect in Lancaster, New Hampshire, Weeks State Park offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape, including the Presidential Range of the White Mountains, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the upper Connecticut River Valley. You can climb the old stone fire tower for an even better view of the fall colors.

Cannon Mountain
This state-owned ski resort in Franconia Notch State Park provides an ideal vantage point to enjoy the fall colors. Take the tram to the summit to see mountains in four surrounding states. You’ll also be able to explore scenic walking paths and enjoy a beer at Café 4080, with the highest beer taps in New Hampshire.

Crawford Notch State Park
Situated between Bretton Woods and Bartlett, this 5,775-acre park offers numerous hiking trails, waterfalls, and picturesque mountain views. Crawford Notch, a mountain pass, is one of the more popular routes for leaf peepers.

Kancamagus Highway
This 34.5-mile scenic drive along New Hampshire’s Route 112 comes alive in the fall.  It’s considered one of the best fall foliage areas in the country. Cutting through White Mountain National Forest, it provides spectacular views of the White Mountains, the Swift River, Sabbaday Falls, Lower Falls, and Rocky Gorge.
