Directions: Take a right out of the parking lot. At the end of Mountain View Road, turn left onto Route 3. Follow Route 3 into the center of Whitefield, past the gazebo and Jiffy Mart onto Route 116. Follow Route 116 into Littleton. Bailiwick’s is located on Main Street in the lower level of historic Thayer’s Inn.

Follow Route 116 into Littleton. At the main set of lights (junction of Route 3 & Route 302) take a left onto Cottage Street. Just before the Irving station, take a left onto Route 302. Follow Route 302 to the I-93 underpass and look for Guider Lane on the left. Take Guider Lane and follow the signs to the Adair Inn.

Follow Route 116 to the junction of Route 142. Take a left onto Route 142 and follow to the center of Bethlehem. Turn left onto Route 302, Rosa Flamingo’s is on the right, directly across from Bethlehem Elementary School.

Offering a delicious selection of salads and quite possibly the only place in the White Mountains where you’ll find falafel, Cold Mountain Café also has a wonderful assortment of always-changing local art.

Directions: Take a right out of the parking lot. At the end of Mountain View Road, turn left onto Route 3. Follow Route 3 into the center of Whitefield, past the gazebo and Jiffy Mart onto Route 116. Follow Route 116 to the junction of Route 142. Take a left onto Route 142 and follow until you reach the center of Bethlehem. Turn right onto Route 302/Bethlehem Main Street. Cold Mountain Café is just over the crest of the hill in a row of shops on the right.

Classic European style cuisine in a turn-of-the century Victorian bank building. Four small and lovely dining rooms. Chef trained at Julia Child’s Kitchen. Open Wednesday-Saturday 5:30-9. Full bar.

Directions: Exit the parking lot and turn left down Mountain View Road. At the end of the road turn left onto Route 116. Follow Route 116 into Jefferson and turn right on Route 2. Follow Route 2 through Jefferson and Randolph and into Gorham. At the intersection, turn right driving through Gorham, once you pass a set of ball fields, look for Libby’s in a row of shops on the right.

Visit this local favorite for diner-style meals and breakfast any time of day. Not sure what to order? Try the Mexican omelet, roast turkey dinner, or Reuben sandwich, but don’t forget to save room for their delicious homemade pies.

A little taste of Mexico awaits at the cozy and informal Alburrito’s, where everything is made to order, from nachos and chili to chimichangas and, of course, burritos. If it’s Mexican you crave, this is the only spot within 35 miles that will really spice up your night. Try the lime cilantro chicken. Homemade hot sauce. Bring your own beer or wine.

Follow Route 3 into the center of Whitefield, past the gazebo and Jiffy Mart onto Route 116. Follow Route 116 into Littleton, look for Alburrito’s on the right, just before a set of lights and Lahout’s Discount Warehouse.

Directions: Take a right out of the parking lot. At the end of Mountain View Road, take a right onto Route 3 north. Follow Route 3 to Lancaster. Before the center of town, turn right onto Portland Street (Route 2 east). Joshua’s is a few hundred yards up on the right.

A true local gem, the Water Wheel is a must-stop spot for mountain-sized breakfasts. Try a 10-inch pancake or root around with the Pig Pen (a delicious combination of scrambled eggs and ham.) Visit the gift shop while you’re there for some out-of-this-world fudge. (Lunch also available.)

Directions: Exit the parking lot and turn left down Mountain View Road. At the end, turn left onto Route 116. Follow Route 116 into Jefferson and turn right on Route 2 east. Follow Route 2 through Jefferson and past Route 115. Look for the Water Wheel on the left.

A terrific place to stop and top off your White Mountains visit as you’re heading back south, Even though they’re famous for their pancakes (try the buckwheat), Polly’s also has a full lineup of other breakfast staples and some terrific lunch selections as well. Be prepared for a wait on busy weekends. Fine views.

Directions: Take a right out of the parking lot. At the end of Mountain View Road, take a left onto Route 3. Follow Route 3 into the center of Whitefield, past the gazebo and Jiffy Mart onto Route 116. Follow Route 116 into Littleton until you reach a three-way intersection indicating the junction of Routes 116 and 302. Turn left onto Route 302/Cottage Street. Straight ahead to turn onto I-93 South. Follow to Exit 38. Take a right onto Route 18 and then your next left onto Route 117. Polly’s Pancake Parlor will be on the right as you travel up the hill.

Miller’s Café is located on Mill Street. There is ample parking behind the Village Book Store (turn left after Thayer’s Inn for public parking.)
