Once a hugely popular annual tradition in northern New Hampshire, Whitefield's gala Winter Carnival is being reborn this year at Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa.  This "new" yearly extravaganza during February school vacation will coincide with a real gold medal winner at Mountain View - a full schedule of our own Winter Olympics events to match up with 2010's gathering of the world's finest athletes in Vancouver, British Columbia.  

The Mountain View Olympic flame will be lit at a special ceremony at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, and will stay lit until the closing events on Sunday, Feb. 28.  As competitors from around the globe vie for medals in Canada, Mountain View visitors will face off in our own fun versions of Olympic events.  There will be a snowshoe and paintball biathlon, broomball hockey, two- and four-person “bobsleds,” short-track skate shuffles, milk jug “curling,” sprint competitions in ice skating and snowshoeing, “luge” and “skeleton” races, and more.  Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded each day at 4 p.m. to top male and female finishers in each event in several age categories. 

Of course, there will be plenty of non-Olympic fun at the resort as well, with our ever-popular chicken bowling, scavenger hunts, snowman and other artsy crafts, cross country ski and snowshoe tours, snowmobiling, dog sledding, tubing, horse-drawn sleigh/carriage rides, ice skating, scenic helicopter rides, sugar on snow feasts, roasty-toasty bonfires, and more!  For further details, please click the Activities Schedule below.

Mountain View Grand's popular budget-conscious family buffet dinners will be offered every evening from Sunday, Feb. 14 through Friday, Feb. 19, in the Crystal Ballroom, while special kids' activities will be available in the Presidential Hall every night including big-screen movie favorites and scheduled magic shows, karaoke contests, and musical performers take the stage.  These well-supervised programs will be held until 9 p.m. each night.
