There’s no more hustling and bustling time of year than Christmas Vacation Week at Mountain View. The spirit of Santa Claus is in the frosty air and kids of all ages are abuzz with Holiday cheer.

Guests are gobbling down Christmas treats from our on-site restaurants, then putting on their boots for a wide variety of fun activities right on the property. Everybody is screaming to the skies as they hurtle down our slopes on snow tubes, scarves flying in the breeze. Snowshoe hikers and cross country skiers are off on our forest trails looking for animal tracks and enjoying the smells of wood smoke in the wintry air. Some have taken the free shuttle to some of the best family downhill skiing in the East, at Cannon Mountain.

Other folks are bundled up in our horse-drawn sleigh or taking a brisk and exciting ride on a dog sled while still others are spinning and twirling on silver skates.

Inside the hotel, guests are splashing in our heated indoor pool, playing fun games like candy bar bingo, learning about all the decadent pleasures of our award-winning Tower Spa, or just quietly taking in the scene from a comfy chair in the lobby as they sip a mug of hot chocolate or mulled cider. Oh, and make sure to tell the kids to watch for an appearance by Jolly Old St. Nick himself.  An array of other children's activities are available with our Holiday Fun for Kids program.  There’s so much to do you won’t even know where to begin. 

New Year's Eve Grand Buffet Celebration
On New Year's Eve, Mountain View Grand will be greeting 2010 in Grand Style with an evening grourmet buffet, the famous16-piece big band stylings of "Berlin Jazz" from 9pm until midnight (bring your dancin' shoes), and a dazzling midnight fireworks display.  The Grand Buffet will feature an amazing raw bar, a carving station featuring Roast Tenderloin of Beef with Wild Mushroom Sauce and a Roast Loin of Pork with Apple Butter Pork Gravy, entrees such as Baked Stuffed Filet of Sole with Lobster Sauce and Grilled Salmon with Citrus Glaze, and a decadent dessert selection that will include classic tortes, winter pies and Viennese pastries.  No casual or inappropriate attire please.

Reservations for the Grand Buffet must be made in advance.  The price is $75 for adults.

Children’s New Year’s Eve Party
Youngsters from ages 4 and up will enjoy their own Grand Buffet in Presidential Hall, with great chow-down favorites like macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers, hot dogs, pizza, salads, and a belly-buster make-your-own sundae bar. There will be supervised games, karaoke contests, Wii competitions, movies, along with front row seats for the spectacular midnight fireworks.
