Mountain View Grand again earns AAA Four Diamond rating in two categories

AAA 2009 Awards & Tour BookMountain View Grand Resort & Spa has once again been awarded the prestigious AAA Four Diamond rating in two categories. As it was in 2008, Mountain View Grand is the only resort or hotel in New Hampshire to be recognized with Four Diamonds in both the lodging and dining categories. Mountain View Grand has been a AAA Four Diamond winner in the lodging category for six consecutive years.

Four Diamond lodgings account for just 3.9 percent of the more than 31,000 AAA Rated lodgings. The fundamental hallmarks at this level include an extensive array of amenities combined with a high degree of hospitality, service, and attention to detail.

Once again this year, the resort was recognized by AAA as a Four Diamond recipient for its Main Dining Room. In this category, Four Diamonds denote that the restaurants “are geared to individuals in search of a distinctive fine-dining experience. Often orchestrated by an executive chef and an accomplished staff, menus reflect a high degree of creativity and complexity, using imaginative presentations to enhance high-quality, market-fresh ingredients. The proficient service staff demonstrates a strong desire to meet or exceed guest expectations. A wine steward is typically available to provide menu-specific knowledge. The ambiance is highly refined, comfortable, and well-coordinated, incorporating quality materials and a variety of upscale design enhancements to give a first-class impression.”

Only four dining rooms in the state were honored with the Four Diamond award and Mountain View Grand’s Main Dining Room was the only hotel or resort venue selected. Four Diamond restaurants account for just 2.8 percent of the nation’s 27,000 AAA Rated restaurants. Consumers can access complete Four Diamond Award lists and information at AAA.com/Diamonds.

“We are pleased to have been recognized with these AAA Four Diamond ratings,” said Christopher Diego, managing director of the resort.  “We are committed to ensuring that our guests have a grand and memorable experience. These awards acknowledge the dedication and hard work of our staff.”

According to the AAA website, Four Diamond properties are “upscale in all areas. Accommodations are refined and stylish. The physical attributes reflect enhanced quality throughout. The fundamental hallmarks at this level include an extensive array of amenities combined with a high degree of hospitality, service, and attention to detail.”

The assignment of the AAA rating marks the completion of a successful annual evaluation. All properties must first meet AAA’s rigorous requirements and guidelines during an evaluation by one of AAA’s full-time professional inspectors to become AAA Approved.

Mountain View offers a variety of amenities, including New Hampshire’s only resort spa to be recognized by the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler magazine as one of the top five resort spas in North America and the Caribbean for 2008, garnering the top spot for service and the number five spot overall. Mountain View Grand provides a unique New Hampshire experience for guests of all ages, featuring complimentary children’s programming, horseback riding, golf, indoor and outdoor pools, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, and an in-house movie theater. Mountain View is a proud member of Historic Hotels of America.

AAA’s Diamond Rating System is the only ratings system that covers all of North America and one of only two that include physical, on-site evaluations. It is the only system that uses full-time, professionally trained evaluators to inspect each property on an annual basis using a set of guidelines that are made available to all establishments. AAA rates more properties than any other rating entity. AAA considers and investigates member feedback during reviews, but does not depend on guest opinions to derive a rating. In addition, AAA provides travelers the opportunity to post comments about their experiences at AAA-Approved establishments.

As North America’s largest motoring and leisure travel organization, AAA provides nearly 51 million members with travel, insurance, financial and automotive-related services.  AAA clubs can be visited on the Internet at www.AAA.com.
